I use this mirror almost every work day to hook up a 6 ton construction trailer that has to be lined up perfectly. Just hook it on your tailgate, set the angle (after a couple of times you will remember the correct angle), and back the truck up to the exact spot. I can now back up to the trailer easier by myself than having someone guide me back. The only time it is difficult is @ night- the reverse lighting on my truck is barely bright enough to see the hitch through the mirror.

I have had to hitch trailers for years, but they were all small and light, all I had to do was get the hitch ball close and I could make up the difference with a little muscle. Last year we acquired a travel trailer and, of course, the weight was much different and hook up more difficult. I found that getting close wouldn't get it and required several retries begore getting it right. I tried enlisting my wife and daughters to be my "eyes", I still ended up making the trip back to the hitch ball. I then tried a method with a ball on an antenna with a magnetic base, one on my truck and the other on the hitch, the idea was to backup and make them meet. I still ended up making a trip back to the hitch ball. Frustrated, I came up with a mirror idea and began looking for something I could make myself. During my search I found this product and quickly decided to purchase it. Once I received it I was eager to try it out. In short, it worked perfectly. I had to stop and adjust the mirror angle once, but after that it worked like a champ. Only two uses so far, but I can tell it is MUCH better than what I had tried before.

This mirror works great, I love it. It is plastic so you have to be a little careful with it, but it makes hooking up my trailer a one shot deal. It sits well on the tail gate, not shaky.
